Data Privacy, Third-Party Disclosure, and Offshore Processing
Protecting your confidentiality is our priority. However, utilizing modern cloud-based software requires information to be processed on external servers.
Under section 30-10(6) of the Tax Agent Services Act 2009 (TASA), we must not disclose any information relating to your affairs to a third party without your explicit permission. Furthermore, because several of our approved vendors (such as OpenAI and Anthropic) process data on servers located outside of Australia, Australian Privacy Principle (APP) 8 requires that you are fully informed of this offshore processing before providing consent.
By accepting Canyon Advisory’s Terms & Conditions upon engagement, you provide your express, informed consent for your information to be processed by the third-party vendors listed on this register, including those that host data in offshore locations.
We review our AI transparency register regularly and will update this page whenever a new technology vendor is approved for use by the firm.
